Oregon, 2006 -- kiteboarders on the Columbia

Early in the afternoon we stopped off along the river to have a picnic lunch. The place we stopped is popular with kiteboarders, who use huge parachute-like kites to pull themselves along the surface of the water. There appeared to be a ramp out in the middle of the river, perhaps on a sandbar, which allowed the more experienced boarders to do tricks.
